Bank Holidays This Week (Aug 25–31): Full List of State-Wise Closures Across India

By Author August 30, 2025

Bank customers across India should take note as banks will remain closed on multiple days this week between August 25 and August 31, depending on the state and regional festivals. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a list of scheduled holidays under three categories: Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. However, the holidays vary from state to state and are not uniform across the country. For this week, closures are expected due to festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Raksha Bandhan, and local events observed regionally. It is important to remember that while physical branches may be closed, digital banking services such as net banking, UPI, ATMs, and mobile apps will continue to function seamlessly. Customers are advised to plan their visits to bank branches accordingly and complete any urgent tasks in advance. Businesses, especially small traders and retailers who rely on cheque clearances, may face delays in processing during these days. Banks recommend using online services wherever possible to avoid inconvenience.
